Western Knifehead - Dragon Adoptables by FabrizioDeRossi
Western Knifehead - Dragon Adoptables
Royal Blue Knifehead adopted by :iconsilenced-dreams:

Memoria's markets are famous for a lot of things. For the fine, hand-woven silks; for the exotic fruits that seem to be from another world, but most of all for its dragon breeders. Dragons used to rule the lands until humans arrived, and as with every species of animals, they start breeding them for hunting, working and especially for their looks.

As you walk towards the cages, big and small alike, you stare in wonder at all the different breeds and their distinct shapes and colors. A set of two cages, in the shadows to the right, suddenly catches your attention. The breeder tells you that these are siblings from a clutch of Western Knifeheads, a breed initially created for hunting large game. The yearlings (as tall as a small horse) snarl as you approach the cages, one glaring at you from green eyes surrounded by blue skin, while the other turns its yellow eyes away from you and curls up in its brownish-golden wings. "Each of them is unique!", the breeder assures you. "The first royal blue and golden ones I have bred so far."

Alright folks, here's the deal: I need to get myself a new computer (my old one is starting to show bad signs of age, sadly), so I'd like to start doing a couple of adoptables in order to save money.

These two are the first of four Western Knifeheads (the other two won't be revealed until these two have found a new home). They are one of many breeds of domestic dragons in the great desert city of Memoria, in the middle of the black sands desert of my headworld. I only reserve the right to use the species itself for my storyline, but if you are to adopt one of these fellows, you can:
- give it a name
- give it a personality (keep in mind that these are animals, though!)
- get a full sized jpg file of your dragon

They are 20$ each. If you'd like to adopt one of them, feel free to write a comment below, as well as a note (so I can send you my paypal-address)! First come, first serve, people!

WIP2 - Velociraptor mongoliensis 'Cricket' by FabrizioDeRossi
WIP2 - Velociraptor mongoliensis 'Cricket'
Work continues on this one. Now I am tempted to turn this into a small print... we'll see how much attention I can give her.

Dromaeosaurids are just too much fun to draw. Cricket, once again, this time a much more refined sketch (and still working on it).
She'll get a simple background, I think.

EDIT: Updated the lastest version of the sketch.

Just Cricket and her mate, Chester, perched on a dead branch and enjoying some private time. Since I don't post enough stuff on here, I thought I might as well just share some doodles.

Since I kind of fell in love with this little gal, I gave her another shot. This time in a running pose, while her eyes are fixed on a target (probably Protoceratops, but who knows?)

A lot of problems with foreshortening, proportions and so on, I should really start with better sketches instead of trying to fix things while rendering...

EDIT: I changed the eyes a bit, they were far too large and prominent. Still not perfect, but a lot better than before. /EDIT
I just wanted to show you a sneak peak at my current 'piece of art', that will be turned into a nice render and printed out life sized for an upcoming event next year.
